April Rhodes took an apprehensive step into the auditorium. She shouldn't be this nervous. It was the lack of alcohol in her system that made her jittery. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea, maybe she shouldn't have taken the job. She was on Broadway before, where she'd always wanted to be. She was the queen of that stage. Why had she done it? What made her take the job? Certainly it wasn't the money. It must have been her aching need to always be doing something different. Or the thrill of competition. That's what she kept telling herself.
Besides, most of the men on Broadway were gay, and that made it difficult to date.
She'd spent most of her summer on stage with many people like herself. No, not recovering alcoholics, but people who loved singing, just like she did. She was a little older than some of them, most being just out of college. April didn't feel too out of place though; her fellow actors were very welcoming. Well, most of them were. Some she couldn't wait to get away from. And now, here she was, standing in the auditorium of Carmel High School.
She walked slowly down the aisle, trying to take in her surroundings. This auditorium was no Broadway theater, but wow, this school definitely had good funding. It was in better shape than McKinley High's theater.
April took a seat in the center, at the table that was available. She set her books down, opening the binder she had with the role call. It was still a little early, but the students would be filing in soon. outfit

They were barely into the school year, but Stephanie was aching to be back - even if, come a month or two, she'd wish to be back on her summer break. Stephanie didn't like sitting around, growing bored. She worked best if she was continually going, doing something productive or not. That was the reason why she disliked summer so much. She'd, more than usual, spend half the day sitting around, doing nothing, only waiting for it to be time to go to practice. That was also one of the reasons why she had been early for Vocal Adrenaline practice today. That, and word was, April Rhodes was due to show any day.
It had been a long few months of practice without knowing if Shelby would be there for the day's practice, or if it would be a practice run by Dakota Stanley, who filled in the gaps until the new director would show up. When it came out that April would be the new director, nobody knew what to think. At first, Stephanie couldn't help but feel apprehensive - April did go to WMHS. But, in next breath, they did win National's in her senior year. Even with that said, she felt unsure that April's alliance would stay with VA, but then again, Shelby wouldn't hire someone unfit... would she? Needless to say, Stephine was full of mixed emotions.
That was until she made her mother take her to New York for a two weeks in the past summer - she saw The Wiz five times in those fourteen days.
But nobody knew about Stephine seeing the show that many times, let alone knew that she was such a fan of Miss Rhodes. That's what made walking into the auditorium today, with her bag in hand, such a hard thing. She didn't want to be first and seem over ambitious to their new coach, yet she didn't want to be last.
As she walked in, Stephanie's eyes were fixed on the area where Shelby used to sit, at her little desk in the middle of the seating. But today, instead of seeing Shelby, or even a short, little (obnoxious) man, Stephanie saw a dinky little blond woman whom, if she hadn't of seen The Wiz five times, she wouldn't haven't recognized as April Rhodes, but as another student.
"Coach Rhodes..." Stephanie said, a bit confused by what even came out of her mouth - when had she ever called Shelby 'Coach Corcoran', as she continued to walk to the row of seats where she normally threw her bag.

Moving to a new school hadn't exactly been on Jacelyn's agenda for her senior year, but in light of events during her junior year, she had been forced to. Ohio was a much different place than California already. There were no beaches for one and the weather was vastly different because the sun wasn't shining everyday like it was on the golden coast. But getting away from there was just better. Here, no one knew who Jacelyn was. She was just a name on the paper and nothing more. They wouldn't know that she had a six-month-old son named Tyler waiting for her at home, nor would they know that bullying about her pregnancy and teenage motherhood had caused her to move. Those were secrets she hoped to God to keep at least for most of her senior year at her new high school, otherwise it would be hell all over again. Jacelyn knew she couldn't handle that a second time. Being a mom at seventeen was hard enough with a baby daddy who didn't give a damn. Matt had emancipated himself the minute she told him she was pregnant last year, but she was determined to raise Tyler on her own with the help of her parents.
As she walked into the auditorium for her first music class, she had heard rumors of some new director fresh from Broadway. Jacelyn had heard of her, but she had been more sheltered in the past year because of her condition. However, Jacelyn lived and breathed for music. She loved to sing and perform in front of people as it made her happiest. It was like the air she needed to survive. As she walked in, she saw two people already there. One she knew for sure was another student, but the other, a small petite blonde woman, she assumed was the director. Jacelyn quietly walked up the row until she reached a row of seats to set her bag. She stood quietly and waited to be addressed first. Being in a new place automatically made her the new kid and Jacelyn wasn't exactly the most outgoing person. In fact, she was kind of shy.

Brody knew, walking into the auditorium, that this year was his year. He was promised by Coach Shelby when she left with that baby of hers that she'd be having a word with the new coach of Vocal Adrenaline and insisting on making him the new male lead. After all, with Jesse gone for college, Brody was pretty much the only one who could carry the weight of VA on his back while making it look easy. He had the strongest voice, and the strongest stage presence, so it was only the right move to put him in the spotlight. And Brody didn't mind in the least. He knew this was great practice for when he was on Broadway next year.
The auditorium was pretty scare, with only three people in it at the moment. Brody recognized Stephanie, whom he'd been friends with for quite awhile, as well as a younger girl and April Rhodes. He set his stuff down next to Stephanie, smiling at her before moving swiftly to the front of the room, headed for April. He had to get acquainted with her right away as this was the woman who was going to help him on his way to greatness this year. And with her being a Broadway vet, she knew all the tips and secrets. She may have been a big supporter of New Directions back in the day, but now all of her attention would be focused on VA (or so Brody hoped) and making it's members the best.
"Coach Rhodes," he said, coming up to the director's table and sticking out his hand. "I'm Broderic Speer, but you can call me Brody. Coach Shelby probably mentioned me. I'm the new male lead and a big fan of yours. Welcome to Carmel," he said, playing the role of director's pet perfectly.

Reid absolutely hated being late. He also hated when people were late, but that wasn't the problem right now. His last period Spanish teacher insisted that he stay after class for a few minutes for a talk. A quick minute talk, turned into what seemed like hours. For once, Reid disregarded what the teacher was saying, and payed all his attention on the clock, which thankfully, was in eyesight. So what if he didn't pay full attention to class today, and didn't do last nights work, Reid had better things on his mind. It was apparent that this new teacher wasn't a fan of show choir.
After that unneeded fifteen minute talk, which only lasted about seven minutes, once the teacher was ready to speak, Reid was slightly freaking out. Today was supposed to be the first day with April Rhodes showing up, filling Shelby's role of director, and being late would not be a good start to the year, in Reid's books at least. At his locker, he quickly shoved his books in his school bag, threw the bag over his shoulders, and grabbed his second bag, that held everything he would need for the next eight or so hours, and took off for the auditorium.
Walking into the auditorium, with only a handful people in sight - Brody, Stephanie, Coach April Rhodes, and another girl - eased Reid, and took away his worries of being classified late. He approached near where Stephanie, a girl whom he had known from VA from the past years, was and placed his bags down in an empty chair, next to another pile of things, which he could only assume, belonged to Brody.
No sooner did the bags leave Reid's hands was he off, towards the middle of the auditorium, to the directors table. "Hello, Coach Rhodes," He said, coming up, and standing next to Brody, not meaning to steal his thunder. Reid knew that this was Brody's year, and as much as it bugged him, he didn't want to take away from his friend's success. "I'm Reid Matthews. Its good too meet you finally."

She sat idly for a few minutes, waiting for the glee clubbers to start filing in. April looked up as she heard the door of the auditorium open and close, signaling that someone had entered. She checked her watch, it was still a few minutes early. She looked behind her, trying to see who had come in the big room. It was a girl, probably a senior. She looked slightly familiar, and that confused April. Where had she seen her before? She'd been in New York City all summer, so it hadn't made much sense to her. She shrugged it off when the girl spoke, calling her Coach Rhodes. April opened her mouth to respond when another girl came in. She watched as the brunette made her way to them and found a seat, not saying anything. She looked shy, or maybe she just didn't like the other girl. It would take time for her to figure it out. April made to speak again when a boy came up held his hand out to her, introducing himself. He seemed a bit overzealous, but maybe he was just excited. His name was familiar, it was one that Shelby had mentioned to her. April was supposed to keep her eye out for leads for him. Of course, he'd have to prove himself first. April didn't pick favorites. She wanted to give everyone a fair chance, but i Shelby had mentioned him, then he must be something special. She took Brody's hand lightly, and shook it, smiling at him and the blond girl behind him.
Before she knew it, another student had come in. He was probably as old as the others, a senior as well was her guess. Reid Matthews. Shelby had not mentioned him, but he seemed as good to her as Brody did, but of course, only time would tell. April looked over to the door, checking to see if any other students would come in and prevent her from speaking. The door remained still, so April turned her attention back to the students. "Hello everyone," she said, a smile on her face. She stood up, finding herself quite a bit shorter than the two boys. "I'm glad you've all heard of me, but if you could all sit down, we can relax for a few minutes while the other kids get here, then we can begin." She smiled at the brunette girl, who was sitting down. "Just, you two girls, tell me your names. I need to know who is who if I'm going to coach you right." She picked up her binder and pen, marking off Reid and Brody's names. April started heading toward the stage, so that way she could be the center of everyone's attention and not have to shout her voice hoarse. "Also, if everyone could sit front and center, I'd really appreciate that."

Jacelyn waited patiently as two more students walked into the room. She wondered if they were all members of Vocal Adrenaline already or if they were hoping like she was to land an audition to be a part of it. Either way, Jacelyn knew that she was probably the newest one there by how everyone else seemed so comfortable just walking into the auditorium like they had done it a thousand times before. Jacelyn wasn't new to performing, but being in a new place was somewhat daunting, especially starting off your senior year in a whole new state. But, it was what was best for Jacey. She had wanted a fresh start and this was her chance. As she sat there, she heard everyone addressing the small blonde woman as Coach Rhodes, which meant that she was their director.
When she heard Coach Rhodes address everyone, asking for names before also requesting that everyone move to the center of the auditorium, Jacelyn stood up and moved herself over with her bag to the center section of seats on the second row. Looking at Coach Rhodes, she smiled softly. "I'm Jacelyn Ramirez," she introduced herself politely, "but most people just call me Jacey." Jacelyn smiled at her nickname, remembering the first time her mother had ever called her that. She had been five-years-old and singing Disney songs around the living room of the house at an obnoxious level. Her mother had just been so frustrated that instead of calling her by her full name, she shortened it to something audible and attention getting, which stuck into an endearing nickname. It was something Jacelyn felt comfortable with, just like being center stage singing her heart out.

Post by BONNIE P. DAWSON on Jun 24, 2010 4:56:24 GMT -5
Whoever thought of putting Spanish as my last lesson of the day works for the devil... Bonnie thought as she hurried out of the classroom and took the quickest route she knew possible to get to the auditorium. Bonnie really wasn't a fan of Spanish, and she'd rather it had been first, so that she could get it over and done with. Last year she'd had English last thing, which had been great because it was Bonnie's favorite lesson. It didn't help that her Spanish room and the auditorium were practically at opposite ends of the school.
Bonnie had wanted to get to the auditorium earlier than she had to, because she'd heard that it was the new coach's first day and turning up late was probably not the best idea. But, as she glanced down to her phone, she could see that it was the only option she had. Well, unless she just didn't turn up, and Bonnie was sure that that would be even worse. Better late than never right?
After what felt like hours of weaving her way through the crowds grouping in the hallways, Bonnie finally saw her destination. Her pace picked up a little now that she could see her goal. Once she reached the goal, she let out her breath, only realizing then that she'd been holding it. She opened the door and quickly slid in. She scanned the room, and realized that maybe she wasn't as late as she thought. She checked her watch again to make sure she wasn't seeing things. Nope, that was definitely the time. Maybe they were taking things slow as it was Coach Rhodes' first day.
Bonnie walked down to where the group of students who'd beaten her here was already sitting. She took a seat behind Steph, a girl who'd been in Vocal Adrenaline since Bonnie had joined last year, maybe longer... Probably longer. She contemplated going up to the petite blonde at the front of the room, but disregarded the thought when she saw who was already there. She decided that introducing yourself straight after Brody and Reid was not a good idea. She already felt her cheeks warming up just at thinking about Reid. She quickly started to look very interested in her bag.
"I'm Jacelyn Ramirez," Bonnie heard an unfamiliar voice say. Bonnie looked up to see who it was. The name wasn't familiar to her, and Bonnie was curious. "but most people just call me Jacey."
Bonnie smiled as this time she saw who'd spoken. A brunette who looked a few years older than herself. Bonnie decided she looked like a nice girl and smiled politely at her.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Stephanie had her eyes on April, giving her her attention as she went to speak to her, and was cut off. Numerous times. First, was when a brunette girl, who she had learned to be Jacey, a new senior, hoping to be able to join VA. Stephanie had learned her name, and a little about her over the summer, but she didn't know much. As Stephanie had leaned against the chairs of the row in front of her, she saw Brody walk into the auditorium. She cast him a smile, as he made his way over to where she was, and received one in return. Stephanie watched, smile still on her face, as he made his way over to where April sat. She couldn't help but roll her eyes, and let out a hushed 'huff' as he played suck-up to April. In Stephanie's opinion, she had to be April's biggest fan in here, not Brody, who was only making certain that he would get his solo's this year.
After Reid, Brody's right hand man, and fellow four-year va-mate, entered, April finally took the initiative to speak, letting herself to no longer get cut-off. As she stood up, Stephanie couldn't help but make a small mental note about how tiny the new director actually was. After seeing her live on stage, she figured she was tiny... but this tiny? April Rhodes would make Kirsten Bell seem 6 feet tall. After April was done addressing them, Stephanie spotted Bonnie at the back of the auditorium, and gave her a small wave, as she for Jacey to finish speaking before she started. "I'm Stephanie Dorn,"

Before April could say anything to him, Brody felt someone else slide up next to him. Glancing, he saw that it was Reid, his best friend. He smirked as Reid introduced himself, always the gentleman. He was about to turn back to Coach Rhodes to say something else when she cut him off, telling everyone to sit down and relax. Brody furrowed his eyebrows. "Relax?" he mouthed to Reid, as the two of them walked back toward Stephanie and their bags. That word had never been uttered in the auditorium, as far as Brody knew.
Reaching their seats, Brody pulled his bag on to his lap, unzipping it before turning to Stephanie. "You know, I could feel that eye roll across the room," he joked, pulling out his sunscreen and a Red Bull. "Be lucky I didn't give one to you, Ms. Starstruck," he added, laughing a little bit at the way Steph couldn't take her eyes off of April. "She's going to be here all year, you can talk to us you know."
Brody unscrewed the cap to his sunscreen and squirted some into his hand before rubbing it on his face and looking around. The two other girls in the room didn't seem to be getting ready, and the thought of how red they would turn made him smirk. He nudged Reid, pointing. "Do you think we should tell them about the lights, or just forget, like all the seniors have in past years?" he asked. It was a senior tradition to not tell new members about the skin damaging effects of the lights. When Brody first joined Vocal Adrenaline, the tradition was played on him, as well as Stephanie and Reid, and the three of them looked like the ripest tomatoes ever after the end of their first practice.

"Relax?" Reid mouthed back to Brody, confused, as the two walked back to where they had dumped their stuff. Relax. That word was never used in the auditorium. In this context, at least. Maybe if someone was saying "This is not a time to be relaxing! Back to work!" but never had Reid heard 'relax' used at a VA practice before.
As the two friends returned to where they had previously dumped their bags, Reid pulled his two bags up off the chair, and sat down. Throwing his school bag to the ground, he kept his VA bag on his lap. Reid opened his bag, which was a lot more packed than he had remembered. It took him two tries to pull out the right bottle of sunblock. Why hadn't he had thrown this one bottle out anyways? It was empty? He threw it back in his bag, like he must of done numerous times before and took the proper one out. Ah, SPF 50 + Sweatproof Protection, you were truly one of Reid's friends, one of the only ones that could fully understand the burden of being a ginger - being plagued with pale skin.
Reid popped open the cap, and begun to pour out the sunblock, as Brody nudged him, causing him to pour some of his sunblock on the arm of the chair. "Dude," he said, trying to salvage the fallen sunblock, as Brody continued talking. "Of course we're forgetting," Reid said, with no hesitation, he started to rub the cream into his arms, "Somebody's gotta pay for the sunburn I had as a Freshman. That sucker lasted about a month."
Reid couldn't help but laugh at the thought of that sunburn. Although the other new kids in the year had one too, including Brody and Stephanie, Reid was right convinced that his had come out the worst. When it came down too it, it really was a cruel tradition, "forgetting" to inform the newbies on the effects of the lights, but the outcome was always too humorous let slide.

Post by SABRINA A. KINGLY on Jun 25, 2010 4:06:01 GMT -5
Sabrina yelled out as she ran towards the auditorium. She got the strangest looks from people as she ran down the hall, stuffing her pointe shoes and ACE bandage back into her gym bag. Sabrina probably looked like a mess. She had limited amount of time, and trying to wash-off bright red eye-shadow just made her looked tried, or wasted. Shoving her bag up onto her shoulder, Sabrina reached into her pocket and pulled out a bright blue ribbon and pulled up her hair, tying neatly into a bun. Reaching the doors of the auditorium, Sabrina stopped and took a breath to calm herself. When she walked through that door, she needed to be professional and calm, and the best. Sabrina was no longer going to settle for being second-place, Sabrina Kingly was going to be the new female lead. No questions about it. Sabrina looked good and dedicated to her dancing and singing. She was great at both. Now, all she needed was to go in there and prove to the new coach that Sabrina deserved to be the new lead, and not just given to some senior because that senior had been their longer then she. Pulling the door open, Sabrina stepped in, taking in all the people. Most of them were familiar faces, and mainly seniors. There were only two people who looked out of place. The first was a girl with dark hair. Sabrina had never seen her before, and it was a little odd for Sabrina not to know the people of Vocal Adrenaline. Sabrina had even been there when Coach Corcoran had been screening potential new members from the middle schools, and that girl hadn't been there. A small smile twitched onto Sabrina's face before disappearing. If she wasn't at the try-outs, then this girl must have been amazing and Coach Corcoran just decided to put her on Vocal Adrenaline. "Sabrina, focus... Sabrina thought to herself as she walked down the rows toward the front of the auditorium. The second person that seemed out of place was the tiny blonde up on stage. She had to be the coach. Why else would she be asking for names? Then Sabrina realized her. It was April Rhodes. The April Rhodes. The April Rhodes that Sabrina had dreamed about meeting when she finally had the chance to go to New York. Now, it was like her dreams were answering her. On the stage of her school, in the crappest place to live in the world, was April Rhodes. Star of The Wiz. Sabrina smiled brightly to herself. She could do this. Sabrina was a natural and making friends, especially with teachers. Flattery was always Sabrina's strong suit. Noticing that there were still a few empty seats at the front the auditorium, Sabrina marched right up to the front and set her bag in the middle of the front row. That was always her seat, and she wasn't about to give it up now. Not when Sabrina had so much to prove. Pushing a stray strand of her black hair out of her face, Sabrina extended her hand to their new coach. It was always best to make a good impression. And that was exactly what Sabrina wanted to do. "Miss Rhodes, it is such an honor to get to meet you. My name is Sabrina Kingly, and I am completely amazed by your voice, and I have always dreamed of meeting you," Sabrina said honestly. She always had dreamed of meeting April. "Please pardon my tardy, I had been distracted by some of my AP Chemistry work, and then I wanted to change into more comfortable clothes for our rehearsal. I promise you that it will not happen again." Sabrina smiled brightly up at the coach before going back to her seat. Carefully putting her gym bag down at her dance-shoe clad feet, Sabrina sat down, a small smirk on her face as she waited for what was going to happen for the rest of the rehearsal. Even if this was just a 'get to know people' rehearsal, Sabrina was going to make a good impression and have everyone on her side. She couldn't be a star without an adoring fan base. That was like celebrity 101. Sabrina needed to start some where, and she might as well start with Vocal Adrenaline. Looking around, Sabrina realized that she had neglected saying hello to every one else. "Stephanie, Bonnie! It's so great to see you two back this year. Reid, nice to see you too. Brody! I'm guess now that Jesse isn't here any more, you're going to be filling his shoes?" Sabrina said in turn to every single one of the returning members of Vocal Adrenaline. Turning around in her chair, Sabrina faced the new girl. "Hi there, I'm Sabrina. Sabrina Kingly. I'm so glad to see a new face around here. I'm sure that you're going to fit in just fine with everyone," Sabrina said with a big smile. Sabrina wasn't actually manipulating anyone either. She was just so happy that everyone was back, and that they finally had some new faces. It got boring after a while, talking to the same people all the time. And Sabrina probably saw the members of Vocal Adrenaline more then her own family. Not that Sabrina was complaining about that. [/ul] OUTFIT?!

Jacelyn knew that today would be the definite beginning of something new for her. She had wanted to start over for the longest time and this was her chance. Vocal Adrenaline was her goal and she knew that she wanted to be a part of it so badly. She missed performing and singing in front of a crowd like she had done back in California for so many years before the last year of her life went down the drain. But this was her opportunity to make it happen again. After introducing herself, Jacey noticed another petite blonde girl a little younger than her giving her a friendly smile. Jacey returned the smile. She was generally a friendly person by nature, even if she was a little shy when meeting someone new. After that, she noticed the two guys, named Reid and Brody, putting on sunscreen and laughed to herself. Everyone else had to do that, but Jacelyn never did. Her Hispanic and Lebanese roots gave her a skin complexity that rarely sunburned. That, and she grew up in California and under the spot lights.
After a few minutes had passed, Jacelyn noticed someone running into the auditorium in a rush, apologizing for being late because of some school work she had been doing that distracted her. She watched the girl for a moment, keeping her silence to be polite. She saw the girl greeting Stephanie and the blonde who had smiled at her, named Bonnie. When the girl introduced herself kindly, Jacelyn smiled back. "I'm Jacelyn Ramirez, but you can call me Jacey for short," she replied. It was good to be welcomed by someone, both in body language and actual conversation. Jacey hated being the one to forcefully introduce herself to a new crowd she didn't know because she considered it rude. However, if someone introduced themselves first, she felt okay with that. Being the new girl wasn't ever easy, but Jacelyn was feeling a little better about it with each passing moment.

April scanned the attendance sheet Shelby had left for her. She checked off Stephanie's name. She went through the sheet once, twice, three more times. Jacelyn was not on the list. She flipped the page and wrote her name down, Jacelyn Ramirez, hoping she was spelling it right. Of course, she'd have to audition the girl, but this was just pretty much an informational meeting. She'd have the club show her what they were capable of toward the ending. April turned her head to speak to the other blonde girl who came in, but was blindsided. Another girl came in, one who seemed very... spirited. She immediately introduced herself as Sabrina Kingley, and April scanned her list once again. "Kingley... Sabrina, there you are." She checked her name off, and watched as more and more members came filing into the auditorium. Knowing that she'd never be able to get the meeting going if she kept checking off each student one by one, April popped the rings open on her binder and pulled out the attendance sheet and the sheet with Jacelyn's name on it. "Okay, everyone, please sit down. Toward the front, in the center." She paused for a few seconds, allowing everyone enough time to get situated.
April picked up two pens, handing the attendance sheet to a boy on the left side of the room, and the sign-up sheet to a girl on the opposite side. "I'm passing around the attendance and sign-up sheets. I'd like it if everyone who is already in the club to check off your name, and if you're here for the informational pre-audition meeting, to sign your name on the other sheet, if I have not already done so." These kids, they were difficult to read. Some seemed shy, others excited to have her standing in front of the room, and others just plain annoyed. April swallowed hard. "Uh... Okay. Most of you know, my name is April Rhodes, and I'm Shelby's replacement. Or rather, Shelby hired me to take over for her." Blank stares still adorned the faces of the kids annoyed to see her. "I suppose I should... tell you some things so you can get to know me better. I spent a few months on Broadway recently, in the first all-white production of The Wiz. Um..." She could really use a glass of wine right now. "When I was a senior, my high school went on to win Nationals. And I know that's what I'm here to get you to do. So treat me as a friend, not just as a coach, because I work better that way. Call me whatever you like. April is fine, but so is Miss M. I don't mind either way; whatever makes you comfortable." She was not very comfortable. But still, April held her head high, trying to seem bigger than she actually was. "Coach Shelby hired me because she had faith that I have what it takes to get you to Nationals. I need you to have that faith in me, too. Trusting each other is the biggest thing to overcome. Most of you already know each other, trust each other. But there are some of you who are new, myself included."
She eyed the room, looking to see if she could tell who was new and who had been here before. It wasn't easy, but a few she could tell right off the bat. "I know its corny, but we'll be doing more than just singing and dancing. Glee club is not a club, despite what the name is. It is a family, and I'm going to make damn sure we feel like one." She'd left one family already. April didn't want to have to leave another, and if the kids of Vocal Adrenaline didn't trust her, she knew she'd have to. "I'm aware that Shelby had very distinct ways that she ran this club. I'm different, I'm telling you that now. I will not run the show the same way she did. So if you do not want to give me that chance, I suggest you leave now, so those who do can."

Stephanie really didn't want to seem starstuck, and she thought she was doing a good job at hiding it. Until Brody pointed out otherwise. She had been giving April the same attention she would have given Shelby, and, for the most part, had been acting normally, nothing over "fangirly". But somehow he had caught on. Maybe the eyeroll was too much...
"I'm not starstuck," Stephanie said, as she turned, facing Brody, arms crossed. "If you ask me, I think you're just jealous that I spent two weeks in New York this summer, and didn't invite you to come," she added, with a smirk on her face, before removing her bags from her seat so she could sit down.
As Stephanie rummaged though her bag, she couldn't help but to listen to the boy's plot to not inform everyone on the use of sunscreen, and to be honest, Stephanie couldn't help but agree with their plan. It had been that way, for at least, as long as Stephanie had been a member of the club, even Shelby played her part in not reminding everyone of sunblock during the first practice. Pulling out her shoes, and sunblock bottle, Stephanie placed her bag on the ground, and pulled her feet up on the chair.
She had just begun to force her one foot into her shoe, as Sabrina walked into the auditorium and walked right up to April. As she stood up there talking, Stephanie couldn't help but turn to Brody to comment. "It looks like your no longer the only one in the running for directors pet," she said to him, teasingly, as she forced her other shoe on.
Watching as Sabrina walked back to her seat, as if her mission had been successful, made Stephanie slightly sick. She had never been a real big fan of Sabrina, and the fact that Sabrina though that she was better than her didn't help. As Sabrina turned back to face her, and greet her, the annoyed look quickly disappeared off her face, and turned into a look of happiness. "Sabrina! Good to see you too!" Stephanie said, through her fake, although realistic, smile.
When April started talking again, Stephanie stopped playing 'happy-to-see-you', and started to pay attention once again. April went about about sheets of paper, which were being passed around, and how she had been on Broadway, and how she had once won Nationals, but nothing about songs, or strategies on how she would help make them win. Although, she did mention things about the club acting like a family.
"Coach Rhodes." Stephanie said, calling her by the first name that came to mind, something April had mentioned in her speech, as she stuck her arm in the air, "Do you have any songs in mind, for us this year?" She asked, hoping to get some ideas for the year out of her.
