It was six in the morning when Bonnie's alarm on her phone went off, blaring out Kesha. If anything could get her awake, it was her phone going off at full volume that was right next to her ear. Bonnie jumped, her eyes wide open as her phone shocked her awake. She groaned to herself before getting out of bed and hopping into the shower to get ready for school. She technically didn't need to get up so early. But if she didn't beat Julian into the bathroom then she may not get a chance to use it. Thirty minutes later she was downstairs sitting in the kitchen eating her breakfast and chatting amiably with her parents. She could hear the sound of the shower which would still be running when Bonnie left the house. Last year she'd learned the hard way about her brother and his morning routine, so to speak. She'd ended up making them both late for school because she refused to go without using the bathroom. However now she knew better, and woke up earlier to make sure she had her allotted time. Besides, with all the practices they had for Vocal Adrenaline, the extra time in the morning was often filled with homework. After finishing her calculus homework and checking it twice, she put her books into the bag that was sitting next to her and, saying goodbye to her parents, walked out the house and made her way to the next house along the road. It was the house of Carmel High's school councilor, Ms York, and her daughter, Journey, who was in the year below Bonnie. Journey's mom and Bonnie's parent's had been friends since they'd moved next to each other. When Bonnie had heard that Journey was going to be attending Carmel, she'd offered to walk with her to and from school so that she didn't have to go on her own. Bonnie knocked on the door and waited for Journey - or her mom - to open it. OUTFIT. ALSO, i suck at naming threads, jsyk...

Journey heard the alarm from her phone going off by her head on the nightstand where it was charging. Supermassive Black Hole by Muse blared from the speakers, causing her to smack it once for the snooze button to sleep a few minutes longer. It was easy to do so since she had a bathroom all to herself. Since there were two bathrooms in the house, she and her mom each had one to theirselves. She liked that aspect of her life because she never had to share. After ten more minutes of sleep, she got up and hopped into the shower before getting out, dressing, and blow-drying her hair straight. She flat-ironed the rest once it was dry to make sure it was all straight before putting her favorite headband in. Looking in the mirror, she finished getting ready by putting on some light make-up and lip gloss before going down to the kitchen to eat breakfast. Her mom was already up and dressed, which meant that they could talk for a little while before Bonnie would be there to walk with her to school.
Pouring a bowl of cereal, she sat down at the table and talked with her mom for a little while. It was easy to talk to her mom, which was nice since most girls her age started to pull away from their mothers. Instead, Journey felt herself growing closer to her mother with each passing year. She loved knowing that she could talk to her mom about anything without feeling scared to. Then again, her mother was a counselor, so it made things even easier that way. After finishing her cereal, she went into the living room to wait for Bonnie. Right as she did so, she heard the knock and knew who it was. "Bye Mom!" she shouted as she opened the door and saw Bonnie standing there. "Heya," she said, walking out and shutting the door behind her, pulling her bag onto her shoulder. "You have impeccable timing, you know. I just finished breakfast and walked into the living room when you knocked," she said, laughing as they walked down the path to the sidewalk.
